Presidents Message

June 8, 2010

CRECA members,

I just want to take the time to give thanks to Taylor Dehnz for her efforts in raising money for CRECA.

Taylor has been giving LaCrosse lessions on Friday's and donating that money to CRECA.

For her efforts we thank her! Yeah Taylor.

If you are interested in your kids taking lessions please contact her or just show up most Fridays at 5pm.

This Friday is the end of school party so I do not think the lessions will happen with all that is going on.

Please bring your family and join in the fun.

Our regular Friday after work get togethers have brought a great time to the many who have attended.

Please join in the activities, bring your bathing suit and favorite beverage and come on down.

Thank You,

Steve Jones

President

President's message:

2010 with CRECA!

I am pleased to be able to continue to serve on the board with such a great team of people. If anyone has not served or helped out with the CRECA activities or serving on the board please consider doing so. It is rewarding to help our fellow members and neighbor's.

New officer's were elected at our meeting held on  April 6th and the results are as follows: Jen Brown comes on board as the membership chair, Heather Dehnz as activities chair, Andy Reed as Secretary, Heather Krukow as treasurer and John Shepard returns to the property chair. We our thankful to have people who are as dedicated to our association as these people are and we would be hard pressed to find any better in my opinion. They have all given their time in the past freely and are now willing to keep up the good work.

Outgoing board member Bob O'Leary thank you for your past work on the board!

During the coming few weeks our effort needs to be focused on the membership drive discussed at the board meeting. We are down close to 25 from our final count last year and CRECA squeaked by financially. Jen Brown needs help and I'm sure will welcome all she can get.  As you can see we have tried hard to upgrade all of the amenities. New pool heater thanks to Ray (Bubba) Wise, chairs, lounge chairs etc. Sometimes it's seems hard for folks to understand the need to help take care of what we have but as it stands right now we will not be able to continue those efforts without increasing the membership.

Our annual Mardi Gra party was a huge success. Special thanks to John Shepard and Robert McDaniels again for all of the great food.

We need to have new ideas of ways to raise money. Anyone with any suggestions that is willing to participate please feel free to approach any board member.

I plan to have a few extra board meetings this year so we can plan and organize our joint efforts. Even though the by-laws state when the regular meetings will be, anyone with a idea or interest in helping will be welcome at those meetings.

I would appreciate that any member who has suggestions to any person in charge of a event please e-mail the entire board. These events as those past board member's know from their experience, require a joint effort and we do not need to be overly critical of someone who tries their best.

Our special thanks goes out to all who participated in the Easter egg hunt and pancake breakfast. Special thanks to Heather Dehnz and Heather Krukow for their efforts. Great pancakes by Jeff Fine with the help of Jim Brown.

I would like to take a little extra time to bring up a few housekeeping rules on the CRECA property. If you have a party scheduled you will be responsible for your own clean up. Otherwise the deposit check will not be returned.

Please help cleanup before you leave the pool area by observing these few rules:

Pick up you cloths & trash, put the umbrellas down, this has been a big problem in the past because if they are left up the wind catches them and breaks the arms. We just bought 3 news and one is already broke. Put your chairs back in place. Just had to change the floats on the pool safety rope for the 2nd time in the last year, when you allow you children to bounce or sit on the rope they crack.

Last but not least is please keep the gate closed and locked especially when you leave. Allowing others to enter the pool area that are not members and possibly cause damage. As property chair John Shepard will appreciate your help with this.

Remember to register your trailer with Mac Jones, anyone who has not paid their membership by April 15th risk having their trailer towed from the property. Be mindful when you leave your trailer and car parked for the day of where others may park when they come in. We are going to try to get some more trees down and the dirt pile moved ASAP to allow room for more parking behind the pavilion. Parking is NOT allowed anywhere on the south side of the ramp. That is agreement with Collier County to allow us to have trailers there at all. If the need arises feel free to park outside the gate along the entrance or even out in the lot.

One last thing that was brought up at the board meeting, sharing of key's / letting others into the area as your visitor who live within the CRECA community is costing CRECA to lose membership's and is not allowed. The board long ago voted on this issue but in the economic crunch we are in all board member's have been directed to enforce this. It is YOURS; it belongs to all of us that are members. Please help.

I look forward to seeing everyone where the road ends at CRECA!

Thank You,

Steve Jones
